Kazakh President issues directives to Education Minister

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Minister of Education Zhuldyz Suleimenova, who presented the 2025 results and outlined objectives for 2026. The country is currently updating school curricula and textbooks to promote the values of the new Constitution. As part of the Taza Kazakhstan initiative, a standard for environmental education is under development. Following a systematic review of primary education content, curricula are being revised to strengthen reading, writing, and arithmetic skills. At the same time, the education system is actively undergoing digital transformation. To date, 99% of schools are connected to the internet. All key documents - including diplomas, certificates, and official records - are available to Kazakh citizens in digital format. More than 240,000 teachers have been retrained in the use of artificial intelligence, with another 200,000 expected to master AI assistants under the ChatGPT Edu project. In addition, 217 schools have been built as part of the Keleshek Mektepteri national project. The Head of State instructed to continue improving education quality and advancing digital transformation, including implementing the Qazaq Digital Mektebi project.
