Kazakhstan’s Central Election Commission announced preliminary results of the elections to the Mazhilis. Thus, three political parties were elected to the new convocation of the Lower House of the Kazakh Parliament. According to the latest data, the votes were distributed as follows: Nur Otan party secured 71.09 percent of the vote, Ak Zhol Democratic Party - 10.95 percent, and People’s Party of Kazakhstan - 9.10 percent. The CEC will sum up the final results at the meeting after receipt of the original records of the territorial election commissions. The parties had to achieve a 7-percent threshold to make it to the Mazhilis of the Kazakh parliament.
“According to the preliminary results, the votes in the elections of members of the Mazhilis of the Kazakh Parliament, which are elected according to party lists, held on January 10, 2021, were distributed as follows. 71.09 percent of citizens casted their votes for Nur Otan party, 10.95 percent for Ak Zhol Democratic Party, 9.10 percent for People’s Party of Kazakhstan, 5.29 percent for Auyl People’s Democratic Patriotic Party, and 3.57 percent for Adal political party,” said Sabila Mustafina, Secretary, Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan.
