President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a telephone
conversation with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, congratulating him
on the signing in Washington, D.C., of the Joint Declaration on the
establishment of peace with Azerbaijan. The document paves the way for broad
international cooperation in the South Caucasus and for more intensive economic
and investment engagement between Kazakhstan and Armenia. The Head of State
also noted that preparations have begun in Astana for the Armenian Prime
Minister’s official visit, scheduled for the end of this year. For his part,
Pashinyan commended Kazakhstan's efforts to facilitate reconciliation between
the two countries.
