Kazakh company to create satellite for Mongolia

Kazakhstan is set to launch an entire constellation of domestically produced satellites. Their development is being carried out by the domestic company «Ghalam». One of the satellites will be delivered to Mongolia. The leader in the country’s space industry specializes in the design, production, and testing of devices. The enterprise is equipped with a dedicated design and technology bureau and an assembly and testing facility. The remote sensing technologies developed under the agreement will enable Kazakhstan and Mongolia to more effectively monitor the state of agricultural land, manage water resources, and analyze environmental changes. It is worth noting that the agreement between the two countries in the space industry was reached during President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s state visit to Ulaanbaatar.

«Currently, Ghalam is working on a project to create a constellation of medium-resolution Earth observation satellites. Launched in 2023, the project is now in the design phase, with assembly expected to start next year. Kazakh specialists are fully involved in this project. An agreement has been signed with partners from Mongolia to supply an Earth remote sensing satellite, which will become the fourth in this constellation,» said Bauyrzhan Almatov, General Director of Ghalam.
