Kazakh government discusses infrastructure and social projects in Zhambyl region

Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov directed the government to work out a mechanism for the next year’s growing season in advance together with the Kyrgyz side at a meeting dedicated to implementing instructions the President gave during his working trip to the Zhambyl region. Smailov was briefed on the region’s priority infrastructure and social projects, particularly, the ongoing reconstruction of irrigation and drainage systems, the construction of reservoirs and the introduction of water-saving technologies. The meeting covered issues on building new schools, a multi-profile hospital and a perinatal center in Taraz, as well as modernizing central hospitals and opening medical facilities in the region. Smailov instructed local authorities to accelerate developing the requisite documentation and budget requests for all priority projects.
