Almaty - Turkistan -
Otyrar - Samarkand - Bukhara - Tashkent - Almaty. This is the new route of the
Jibek Joly tourist train, which will begin its travel season on September 19.
Over six days, passengers will visit iconic historical and cultural landmarks
of the Great Silk Road. The tour includes stops at the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed
Yasawi and the Otyrar settlement in Turkistan, the Ark Fortress and Lyabi-Hauz
Square in Bukhara, the Mausoleum of Amir Timur and Registan Square in
Samarkand, and the Tole Bi Mausoleum and Hazrati Imam memorial complex in
Tashkent.
«This is the fifth
Jibek Joly tourist train to operate between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. In
previous seasons, more than 1,000 tourists have taken part in the journey. The
train is made up of modern, comfortable carriages produced domestically, with
interiors designed in a national style featuring traditional ornamentation. The
route passes through key cultural and historical centers in both Kazakhstan and
Uzbekistan. The launch of the Jibek Joly train marks a significant step in
developing rail tourism, strengthening cultural ties between the two countries,
and supporting the presidential initiative to boost tourism potential,» said
Nariman Dyussekeyev, official representative of the Passenger Transportation
company.
