Kazakh school students win International Chemistry Olympiad

Kazakh school students returned victorious from a prestigious chemistry tournament in Saudi Arabia. At the 56th International Chemistry Olympiad, four Kazakh students surpassed competitors from 90 countries and secured the top three positions. Adilzhan Moldagul took the third place, and Abylai Kabdulkhadyr was the second. Rinat Yeleussizov and Kirill Kim, the students of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Astana, won gold medals. The winners were welcomed at Astana International Airport by their classmates.

«I followed a systematic approach to my preparation, gradually improving my level. The key to effective training was consistency rather than intensity. Thus, I did not face any issues with it. The most important aspect was to be persistent. Every day, I spent at least one to two hours to study chemistry,» said Kim.

«For me, the Olympiad was challenging, featuring various theoretical and practical tasks. No one knew what to expect, but it was clear that they were different from those in previous years,» said Kabdulkhadyr.
