Investment in Astana’s economy reaches 588 billion tenge

The volume of investment in Astana has increased by nearly 10 percent since the beginning of the year, reaching 588 billion tenge. The capital’s development was reported to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev by Mayor Zhenis Kassymbek. Investments were directed toward manufacturing, education, trade, and logistics. The President was also briefed on the city’s engineering and municipal infrastructure, as well as the implementation of the Smart City project. In addition, light rail transit in the capital has been fully launched, and work is currently underway on the development of the second phase of the Astana LRT project. In the near future, 12 educational institutions, six kindergartens, and dozens of public spaces will open in the capital. Furthermore, Astana is set to become greener, with more than one million trees and saplings planned for planting across the city.
