This Friday, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Sheikh Ahmed el-Tayeb will deliver a sermon in the new mosque of Nur-Sultan. The distinguished guest is taking part in the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. The Nur-Sultan Grand Mosque is among the ten largest in the world. It occupies an area of ten hectares in total. The mosque is visited by both Kazakh residents and foreign nationals. Guides provide information there in different languages. According to clerics, the new mosque is rightfully considered to be the center of spiritual enlightenment.
“This mosque is not only a place for worship, but also a center of spiritual, cultural and scientific education. Currently, we are informing worshippers about what religion courses we have. Besides, we meet tourists and show them our mosque,” Serik Akhmetov, Naib Imam of the Nur-Sultan Grand Mosque, said.
