More than 120 proposals were put forward on the first day of
the fourth meeting of the National Kurultai (Congress) in Burabai. The
initiatives cover a wide range of issues, including socio-economic development,
cultural heritage preservation, information security, artificial intelligence
development, content in the state language, and youth education. All proposals
will be carefully reviewed, with many expected to be implemented. During the
discussions, the establishment of an artifact depository was proposed. It is
planned to be built at the Alkey Margulan Institute of Archaeology. The
depository will catalog all discoveries in a unified digital database and also
serve as a museum, showcasing artifacts unearthed by Kazakh archaeologists over
the past five to ten years.
«Currently in Astana, 10 hectares of land have been
allocated for the construction of a national depository. This long-discussed
issue has become particularly relevant. Around 600,000 newly discovered
artifacts have been collected, many of which are currently stored without
suitable conditions. All of these artifacts will now be cataloged in a unified
system with full inventory management and a digital database,» said Sayasat
Nurbek, Kazakh Minister of Science and Higher Education.
