During a meeting with the heads of leading global news agencies on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the relations between Kazakhstan and Russia are allied and strategic. According to the Russian leader, trade and economic ties between the two countries are steadily growing each year. The partnership between the states is strengthening in all areas, with increasing trade turnover and joint projects in energy, industrial cooperation, and the aerospace sector. Additionally, Putin confirmed his participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, which will be held on July 3-4 in Astana.
«We are constantly in contact with President Tokayev and
have developed very good, trusting, and friendly relations with him. We share a
vast common border, and citizens interact with each other. 76 regions of the
Russian Federation have direct relations with corresponding territories in
Kazakhstan. These connections are probably the most effective and efficient, as
people communicate directly, know each other, and trust each other,» Putin
said.
