Senate Speaker discusses implementation of state-of-the-nation address with experts

This year’s state-of-the-nation address by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has strategic significance, covering all major areas of the country's development. The implementation of the tasks set by the Head of State for the Government and Parliament requires united efforts of state and public institutions, as stated by the Chairman of the Senate Maulen Ashimbayev during a meeting with experts at the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies (KazISS). He noted that the Parliament is instructed to adopt a number of laws to implement President Tokayev’s initiatives and emphasized the importance of involving civil society in this process. Representatives of leading scientific institutions and research centers also expressed their readiness to unite for developing ideas and shared their opinions on the effective implementation of tasks outlined in the state-of-the-nation address.

«President Tokayev highlighted the budget as one of the key areas for further economic reforms. If we are implementing political reforms and empowering village or district governors, we must create conditions by providing the necessary funds and resources. Therefore, economic reform is essential for the effective operation of political reform,» said KazISS Deputy Director Alua Zholdybalina.
