Foreign Ministry: Evacuation of Kazakh citizens from Gaza Strip begins

The evacuation of Kazakh citizens from the Gaza Strip began today, facilitated by negotiations of domestic diplomats and coordinated efforts of the Kazakh embassies in Egypt, Jordan, and Israel, as noted by Aibek Smadiyarov, the spokesperson for the Kazakh Foreign Ministry. According to him, the first evacuation operation will include 40 Kazakh citizens and four of their family members. Earlier it was reported that there are 76 Kazakh citizens in the Gaza Strip, and work continues to assist those remaining. Alongside Kazakhstan, representatives of nine other countries are also being evacuated today.

“Kazakhstan is evacuating its nationals from the Rafah crossing between the Gaza Strip and Egypt. Upon passing the checkpoint, Kazakh citizens will be transported by car to Cairo and accommodated in a hotel before continuing their journey to Kazakhstan. Overall, a total of 594 foreign citizens will leave via Egypt’s Rafah crossing,” Smadiyarov said.
