Members of the People's Headquarters for the Construction of
the NPP, led by Senate Chairperson Maulen Ashimbayev, visited the Zhetisu
region. MPs, experts, and public figures held a series of meetings with
employees of manufacturing enterprises and the region’s active youth. They
discussed the importance of studying the latest techniques and implementing
innovative technologies in production. In this regard, the primary topic of
discussion was the construction of a nuclear power plant. The meeting participants
expressed their opinions and inquired about the benefits and risks associated
with the construction of the facility. Ashimbayev noted the strategic nature of
this initiative and its significance for the country's economy, highlighting
the importance of every resident’s vote in the upcoming referendum. He also
emphasised that this is a specific example of the implementation of the «Listening
State» concept.
«President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated that
socially significant issues which directly impact the country's future should
be addressed through open dialogue with the people, listening to their opinions
rather than in closed offices. This message should be conveyed to the people of
Kazakhstan. It should be emphasized once again that the final decision will
depend on the people's choice,» said Maulen Ashimbayev, Chairperson of the
Senate, the Upper House of the Kazakh Parliament.
