Experts: OTS countries strengthen cooperation

The Organization of Turkic States has been consistently expanding trade, economic, transport, and investment cooperation, creating new growth points in the region. There is significant potential for strengthening cooperation within the Middle Corridor. The route, which passes through the OTS member states and the Turkish part of the Black Sea, ensures fast and secure delivery of goods from China to Europe, significantly reducing transit times compared to alternative routes.

«Kazakhstan occupies a pivotal transit point along the Middle Corridor in Asia, while Türkiye is the only gateway of this route into Europe. As cooperation between Kazakhstan and Türkiye continues to strengthen, the Middle Corridor’s potential will expand further, exerting a significant impact on trade and logistics networks, as well as on the economy of the entire Eurasian region,» noted Kürşad Zorlu, Deputy Chairman of Türkiye’s Justice and Development Party.

The theme of the OTS Informal Summit in Turkistan was focused on the development of artificial intelligence and digitalization. According to Mazhilis member Aigul Kuspan, this reflects the member countries’ course toward practical technological integration, the creation of shared IT hubs, and ensuring cybersecurity. Aigul Kuspan noted that Kazakhstan’s experience in the legal regulation of digital technologies, in particular the adopted and implemented law on artificial intelligence and the Digital Code, could serve as a benchmark for member states of the Organization. At the same time, the partnership agenda within the OTS covers a wide range of areas.

«An important topic is investment specifically, investing in each other’s economies and creating favorable conditions for mutual investments. Last year, the Kazakh Parliament ratified the agreement on the establishment of the Turkic Investment Fund. To date, the Fund has accumulated $600 million, which will be allocated toward the implementation of specific investment and infrastructure projectssaid Aigul Kuspan, a member of the Mazhilis, the Lower House of the Kazakh Parliament.
