The World Painting art project, which is the new Guinness World Record breaker, was presented at the National Museum of Kazakhstan for the first time. Over 2,000 people from more than 193 countries put their touches on the canvas during the EXPO 2020 Dubai. Thus, the painting broke the record as the project involving the largest number of people using a paintbrush and passing it along the chain. Over the course of several months, renowned representatives of culture, art, sports, business and politics from all over the world took part in the creation of the World Painting. In September, the unique work was exhibited at the UN Headquarters in New York. In the near future, the art project is planned to be showcased at the Kasteyev Museum of Arts in Almaty, as well as in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.
“The idea belongs to me. Actually, I was thinking a lot about how to unite all countries after the pandemic. The copy visited the International Space Station. Here it is, on the right side of the picture, and the amazing thing is, if you turn this copy over, it’s an astronaut’s working paper. Famous people like the legendary boxer Roy Jones, Kazakh filmmaker Timur Bekmambetov, Baigali Serkebayev, and Hollywood actor Riz Ahmed took part in our project,” said project author Daut Shaikhislamov.
