People’s Unity Day was celebrated
across Kazakhstan with a series of charitable events, fairs, and thematic
gatherings. Volunteers and rescuers who participated in flood relief efforts
were honored in all regions of the country. People in the Karagandy region demonstrated
their solidarity by helping those affected by the natural disaster. A convoy of
trucks with essential supplies was dispatched to the Shet district.
“We are facing challenging times.
The entire nation is struggling with the aftermath of the natural disaster. And
in these days, the unity and consolidation of our people have been vividly
demonstrated, as the Head of State noted. Trucks with over 50 tonnes of
humanitarian aid will be sent from this square to the affected regions,” said
Vilen Molotov-Luchansky, deputy chairman of Kazakhstan’s Ethnic Assembly in the
Karagandy region.
In Almaty, the Day of Unity was
also commemorated with a charitable fair and a gastronomic festival. In the
square in front of the Palace of the Republic, over ten renowned restaurants
showcased a wide range of dishes from various ethnic cuisines, including
Kazakh, Turkish, Uyghur, and Armenian. Proceeds from the event will be directed
to flood victims.
“As our President noted, our
strength lies in unity. Such holidays foster mutual understanding among
representatives of different nationalities,” added Dolkuntai Abdulkhalil,
chairman of the republican ethno-cultural center of Uyghurs in Kazakhstan.
