The construction of a children’s and youth
sports school has begun in Zerendi, the Akmola region. This is one of the first
projects in the country to be implemented using returned assets, following the
instruction of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The project’s cost exceeds two
billion tenge, and the school will cover an area of over 6,000 square meters.
It will be equipped for wrestling, boxing, and skiing disciplines, and will
house two gyms with the necessary equipment, allowing up to 80 people to train per
session. The facility, which is scheduled for completion in December this year,
will provide training in both summer and winter sports.
«We believe that with the new building of
our sports school, we will be able to increase the number of athletes and
coaches and introduce additional sports disciplines. Currently, we have 806
students and 25 coaches. At the old facility, we operated at the regional,
national, and international levels, but now the goal is to train athletes for
the Asian, World, and Olympic Games!» noted Kairbek Kalibayev, director of Zerendi
specialized children’s and youth sports school.
