Kazakh scientists develop food supplement for athletes

Kazakh scientists have developed a food supplement that supports athletes' health. It protects cells from damage, slows the development of age-related diseases, and improves physical and mental performance. The scientists worked on the supplement for about three years, including the research, testing, and certification stages. According to the developers, there are currently no analogues worldwide. Additionally, these specialized therapeutic and preventive nutrition products are suitable not only for athletes but also for individuals working in hazardous industries or exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

«Initially, it didn't start with this product; it began with the anti-ageing goal. We were working on gerontological products, studying the polyphenolic compounds of various berries, dark-colored berries, and herbs. Later, we discovered these properties in endemic plants in Kazakhstan. They can help our athletes withstand long distances, increase endurance, and adapt to training, which ultimately led to the creation of this product,» noted project manager Sergazy Shyngys.

Currently, the first trial batch of the additive has been produced in the country, with mass production scheduled for December this year. In the long term, there are plans to expand production and the product range as they enter international markets. There is already interest in the domestic food supplement from abroad.

«We are starting the implementation in Kazakhstan and planning to register on marketplaces. We have signed an agreement with a retail chain that will sell the product. We are also negotiating with gas stations. We plan to enter the markets of the Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and China. Additionally, the registration area of our product allows for sales within the EAEU, including Russia, Belarus, and the Kyrgyz Republic,» Sergazy Shyngys added.
