44 diplomats and
representatives of international organizations took part in the annual CICA
Bicycle Tour in Burabay. This year, the sporting event was dedicated to the
20th Anniversary of the CICA Secretariat. According to participants, the
diplomatic bicycle rally has long since evolved beyond a sporting event, becoming
a platform for informal dialogue, strengthening international ties, and
promoting the principles of sustainable development and shared values. The tour
traditionally coincides with World Bicycle Day, proclaimed by the United
Nations General Assembly.
The event was organized by the Secretariat of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), the United Nations Resident Coordinator Office in Kazakhstan, and the Embassy of Tajikistan.
«Today we are participating as a co-organizer of the bicycle marathon. We
support and have always supported all initiatives of the Secretariat aimed at
bringing embassies and international organizations closer together through the
organization of such sporting events. It is very good when, alongside work,
there is sport that brings us together and unites us. This is a friendship bicycle
marathon,» noted Abdulaziz
Sharifi, Representative of the Embassy of Tajikistan in Kazakhstan.
CICA Secretariat delegation visits Children’s Center in Akkol
The CICA is also actively involved in social projects. Funds raised at the
Spring Charity Bazaar in Astana were allocated to improving recreational
conditions for children in the Akmola region, specifically at a summer camp in
the town of Akkol. The initiative received active support from several
diplomatic missions, international organizations, as well as business people
and volunteers. According to CICA representatives, by bringing them together
within charitable projects, the Organization contributes to deepening mutual
trust both at the intergovernmental level and among peoples.
