Kazakhstan celebrates the 100th anniversary of prominent writer Berdibek Sokpakbayev. To mark the occasion, a monument was ceremoniously unveiled in the Almaty region. The Senate Speaker Maulen Ashimbayev attended the ceremony and read out the congratulations of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The Head of State called Berdibek Sokpakbayev a great writer who made an invaluable contribution to the development of Kazakh children's literature. His works, such as «Travel to the childhood», «My Name is Kozha», and «The Battle», have shaped the upbringing of many generations of citizens. By portraying the complexities of human psychology and the rich inner world of the Kazakh people, the writer skillfully created characters who immediately resonated with readers. Today, Berdibek Sokpakbayev's works have been translated into 68 languages, and the inclusion of his centennial in the UNESCO calendar of anniversaries is a testament to the respect for the renowned writer.
