Artificial intelligence has begun to be used in the
Burabai resort area. AI helps improve services, particularly through video
surveillance systems that analyze real-time footage. Smart cameras are being
actively deployed at the operational control center of the police department in
the Burabai district. The system is integrated with the databases of the
General Prosecutor’s Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which will
help enhance safety for tourists.
«First and foremost, this concerns tourists who got lost. They can be
identified by external features such as the presence of a beard, age, gender,
and clothing. All the data are integrated into a unified system, once the
person’s characteristics are entered, the system automatically locates them,» noted Merei Ramazan, Deputy Mayor of Burabai district, the
Akmola region.
Since the beginning of the year, over one million travelers have visited
Burabai. Every year, the resort attracts tourists from across the country and
neighboring states. To draw even more visitors, special emphasis has been
placed on developing ethno-tourism.
«Ethno-tourism involves visiting sites that showcase local ethno-culture,
such as cheese and kymyz production or horseback riding. We see great potential
in this area, as most tourists currently just come, stay in hotels, and go for
walks. We want to diversify their experience based on their interests,» said Aray Sadykov, Mayor of Burabai district, the Akmola
region.
Gastronomic tourism is also attracting visitors. It not only helps preserve traditions but also offers travelers a new way to experience the country. For example, at Ruslan Sokolov’s cheese factory, guests can tour the production facility and sample 16 varieties of cheese. Notably, Kazakhstan’s cheese has repeatedly been recognized as among the best at prestigious competitions in Europe.
