Kazakh schools pilot AI-enhanced learning

Kazakh schools are piloting digital solutions powered by artificial intelligence. AI elements are being integrated into the “Computer Science” and “Digital Literacy” classes. In primary grades, students learn through play-based activities and visual tools, while in higher grades they complete project-based assignments such as creating chatbots, analyzing data, and discussing ethical issues. The approach aims to foster critical thinking, digital literacy, and a responsible attitude toward technology. Meanwhile, the smart assistant supports teachers primarily in lesson planning, test grading, and analysis of student performance. To date, more than 200,000 teachers in Kazakhstan have completed specialized training courses on using AI in the educational process.

«First, I give ChatGPT a task and ask the bot to solve the problem while explaining the steps. Then I ask it to give me a task; after I solve it and share my answer, the bot checks whether it’s correct. Only then can I tell whether I truly understood the material,» said student Ramazan Oral.
