A supercomputer was officially launched in Kazakhstan.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in the ceremony at the Alemcloud
National Center. The system was installed in a new data center of the relevant
ministry. The supercomputer cluster is the most powerful computing solution in
Central Asia. Its launch marks a significant step in the digital transformation
of key sectors. It will also support the development of neural networks, the
digital economy, and scientific research. Universities, startups, and IT
companies will have access to its capabilities. The Head of State described
today's event as an important step in the country’s technological development.
«Today, under your directive, Kazakhstan is launching a
national supercomputer cluster powered by Nvidia H200 chips, with performance
of up to two exaflops. President Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich, to give momentum to
the industry, it is proposed that computing power be offered on preferential
terms: free of charge for startups, R&D initiatives, and government
agencies; discounts of up to 50% for established domestic IT companies; and
market rates for foreign clients,» said Zhaslan Madiyev, Kazakh Minister of Digital
Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry.
