A branch of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) has opened in Omsk. Notably, this is the first branch of a Kazakh university established in Russia. Admissions are currently underway. The teaching staff consists of professors and scholars from both countries. Instruction will be conducted in Kazakh, Russian, and English. The university accepts students from Kazakhstan based on the results of the Unified National Testing (UNT), and from Russia through an interview process. Interest has also come from students in China and Mongolia.
«The branch has already begun admitting its
first applicants. Applications will be accepted until July 31. The university
will train specialists in educational programs such as International Law,
Customs Affairs, and Kazakh Language and Literature. These programs will be
available for bachelor’s students,» said Nurken Abdigali, Director of the
Internationalization and Recruitment Office at KazNU.
