Kazakhstan and France are strengthening cooperation in education and science. The Lumières Foundation has opened in Astana to foster partnerships between universities in the two countries. The new platform will support joint educational programs, student academic mobility, and the implementation of research projects. The foundation will also work to attract grants and scholarships for Kazakh students to study in France. Special attention will be given to cooperation between universities and the business community, as well as to training in-demand specialists. Notably, Kazakhstan and France already have around 40 partnership projects and about 20 dual-degree programs. The foundation will operate on the basis of Maqsut Narikbayev University.
«We plan to develop the AI field, meaning cooperation within the framework of a new educational program that we are opening in September this year to promote artificial intelligence. The program is called AI+X, where X represents one of the areas of our university. We also hope to find partners in France,» MNU Provost Anar Ibrayeva noted.
«Our goal is to
increase the number of partnerships and dual-degree programs. This foundation
will help us respond to the needs of partner universities as well as
businesses, because we see strong economic development in Kazakhstan. Many
companies are in need of highly qualified specialists, skilled engineers, and
technicians,» French Ambassador to
Kazakhstan Sylvain Guiaugué said.
