One million Kazakh
citizens will be trained in artificial intelligence. Over the next five years,
the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry will
oversee the training of highly qualified specialists in the field. The country
is currently building an institutional and legal framework to support the development
of the sector. A national strategy is in development, and a draft law ‘On artificial
intelligence’ is under consideration by Parliament members. According to
experts, the creation of an International Artificial Intelligence Center in
Kazakhstan will make a significant contribution to the advancement of neural
networks. It will serve as a platform that brings together startups, the
scientific community, government agencies, the quasi-public sector,
laboratories, and international experts. The Alem.AI building, which spans
eight floors, is expected to house educational institutions for school
students, research laboratories, a situation center, and venues for forums and
hackathons.
«This initiative
focuses on training competitive AI specialists. It is an international program
where students study independently, without traditional instructors. The sixth
floor will be dedicated to the AI campus, support for AI startups, acceleration
and incubation programs. We also plan to host representatives of venture
capital funds there, enabling immediate financing for priority startups. The seventh
floor is expected to house R&D centers - specifically, AI laboratories,» noted
Gizzat Baitursynov, Chairman of the Artificial Intelligence and Innovation
Development Committee at the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovations and
Aerospace Industry.
