The Astana Opera
artists captivated the audience at the Shota Rustaveli Academic Theater in Tbilisi. This marked their
first performance in Georgia. The program, curated by Abzal Mukhitdin, featured
works by domestic composers, as well as international musical masterpieces. The
audience was particularly enchanted by the vibrant Kazakh melodies and the
sounds of the dombyra performed by conductor Ruslan Baimurzin, a recipient of the Order of Kurmet. The
Astana Opera artists also presented excerpts from the ‘Birzhan – Sara’ opera,
the ‘Kyz Kuu’ symphonic scherzo from the ‘Steppe Legend’ suite, Abai’s song
‘Aittym Salem, Kalamkas’ and Serke’s cavatina from Sydyk Mukhamedzhanov’s opera
‘Aisulu’. Alongside the national music, the Astana Opera artists performed
renowned and beloved arias and duets from operas by Giacomo Puccini, Gioachino
Rossini, Jacques Offenbach, and others. It bears noting that the Astana Opera
tour was supported by the Kazakh Ministry of Culture and Information and the
Kazakh Embassy in Georgia.
