The Astana Opera Theatre captured
the hearts of the Slovenian audience at the 72nd edition of the Ljubljana
Festival by presenting Aram Khachaturian’s ballet «Spartacus». The performances
of the Kazakh troupe, invited by the event organizers with the support of the
country’s Ministry of Culture and Information, took place over two days, on
July 1 and 2. They were accompanied by the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra and
a female choir conducted by the Honored Artist of Kazakhstan, Maestro Abzal
Mukhitdin. The main roles were performed by soloists Baktiyar Adamzhan, Aigerim
Beketayeva, and Madina Unerbayeva. More than 3,000 spectators attended the
performances of the Kazakh artists.
«I have been performing the role
of Spartacus in this ballet for over 10 years. At this point, I believe I have
reached my peak in terms of both physical performance and acting skills. I hope
that the audience in Ljubljana will highly appreciate our performance. For us,
this is a great responsibility and a significant promotional opportunity. It is
a chance to demonstrate the high level of our artistry,» Astana Opera’s leading
soloist Baktiyar Adamzhan said.
