To expand joint programs
in education, science, and culture, conduct bilateral research and exchanges,
and implement creative and IT projects - these were the topics discussed by
experts, scholars, and writers at the first Kazakh-Uzbek Forum of the Scientific
and Creative Intelligentsia in
Astana. The event was attended by Senate
Speaker Maulen Ashimbayev and Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of
Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva. The parties compared notes on key issues of cultural and humanitarian
cooperation, the development of public diplomacy, and the preservation of
traditions.
«Culture, art, and education are bridges that no political winds can destroy. They
rest on shared history, mutual respect, and genuine interest in one another. I
am confident that today’s meeting of the scientific and creative communities
will also serve as a platform for exchanging ideas, thoughts, and plans - a
place where we will listen to one another and take another step toward a common
future,» noted Maulen Ashimbayev,
Chairperson of the Senate, the Upper House of the Kazakh Parliament.
«We
already have experience of
cooperation among
universities, academies of sciences, museums, and creative unions. I am
confident that the potential here is immense - ranging
from archaeological
expeditions to joint exhibitions and digital projects for heritage preservation,» said Tanzila Narbayeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the
Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan
The Chairperson of the Senate of Uzbekistan also met with members of the National Commission on Women’s Affairs and Family and Demographic Policy under the President of Kazakhstan. The parties discussed gender equality issues and projects aimed at expanding women’s economic opportunities as part of advancing sustainable development throughout the Central Asian region. In addition, joint initiatives were developed at the meeting.
