Kazakh Paralympic winners and medalists welcomed in Astana

Kazakhstan’s paralympians were welcomed with all honors at Astana International Airport. Relatives and supporters gathered to greet the champions and medalists of the 2024 Paralympic Games. Notably, the national team made a historic achievement with nine medals, including two gold, three silver, and four bronze. Para-powerlifting athlete David Degtyarev became the country’s first two-time Paralympic champion, and Akmaral Nauatbek secured the second gold medal for Kazakhstan in para judo.

«Of course, I’m happy that I won and now I plan to rest and focus on my health. Our athlete, David Degtyarev, has become a two-time champion this time, and I hope I will also have the chance to win gold again at the next Paralympics. This is my goal for the future,» Nauatbek shared.
