Preparations for the fifth World Nomad Games are in full
swing in Kazakhstan. Athletes in equestrian sports have daily training sessions
in Shymkent. Among them is rider Balnur Sadyk, the winner of numerous medals in
the kyz kuu national game. She always performs with her race horse named Shap whose
speed reaches 60 kilometers per hour. The rider and her horse achieve excellent
results and promise to show a good performance at the international
competitions. The team is expected to win as everyone is confident of their
skills.
The qualifying stage in baige featuring about 100 athletes from
all regions of Kazakhstan took place in Pavlodar. The first participants for the
upcoming fifth World Nomad Games have been determined. Competitions were held
in four disciplines, including kunan baige, top baige, zhorga zharys, and
alaman baige.
«As for the level of horse preparation, only the best horses
are participating in this championship. The list also includes last year’s
champions,» said Altai Bimen, executive director of the Baige Federation.
«Winning the qualifying round of the fifth World Nomad Games
is a great joy for us. We came from Mangystau, covering 3,500 kilometers and
bringing seven horses to participate. We took the fifth place in kunan baige, and
our horse Gassyr was the first in top baige. Of course, this is a significant
achievement and responsibility for us. Now we intend to perform well in the upcoming
World Nomad Games,» said top baige winner Aleke Doskuatuly.
