The fifth World Nomad
Games are just around the corner. Three Kazakh athletes from Atyrau are set to
compete in the large-scale sporting event in Astana. Among them are Nurzhan Sarsengaliyev,
an expert in Kyrgyz wrestling, Arman Koshkarov, known for his skills in hunting
with birds of prey, and Marat Beksultan, a multiple-time champion in archery. Beksultan acknowledges that the competition at the Games will be tough,
with main rivals coming from Hungary, Indonesia, Türkiye, the Kyrgyz Republic,
and Russia. Archery requires not only strength and precision but, above all,
concentration.
«Traditional archery demands intense
concentration and attention to detail. Besides technique, success in archery
depends 50-60 percent, or even up to 70 percent, on concentration. If you
cannot focus, you will not achieve good results,» said archer Marat Beksultan.
