Kazakhstan’s tennis team gears up for Davis Cup match against Denmark

The tennis teams of Kazakhstan and Denmark will face off on hard courts in Astana as part of the Davis Cup World Group I. Preparations are in full swing for the games scheduled to take place over two days on September 14 and 15. Kazakhstan’s team is represented by well-known players, including Yuri Schukin, Alexander Bublik, Aleksandr Nedovyesov, Timofey Skatov, and Beibit Zhukayev. Additionally, the country’s second-ranked player, Alexander Shevchenko, has announced his intention to compete for the national team. Danish players are also ready for the upcoming match with Kazakhstan’s team in Astana.

«I have very high expectations, I have always wanted to play in the Davis Cup, and now I have this opportunity. I had an incredible feeling when I first played for the national team at the Olympics. And here the team spirit is also very strong, with a good staff and a very friendly team. So, it will be an honor for me to participate. I hope that we will show our best,» said Alexander Shevchenko, member of Kazakhstan’s tennis team.

«We had a good preparation. Three of our guys, we were in Eastern Bullet for the Challenger, and got a good week together. Another guy played in Hungary, and we’ve had some good hours on court. I think the players look good. Good conditions, good atmosphere, good spirits, like the Davis Cup format,» shared Frederik Nielsen, captain of Denmark’s tennis team.
