The tennis teams
of Kazakhstan and Denmark will face off on hard courts in Astana as part of the
Davis Cup World Group I. Preparations are in full swing for the games scheduled
to take place over two days on September 14 and 15. Kazakhstan’s team is represented
by well-known players, including Yuri Schukin, Alexander Bublik, Aleksandr
Nedovyesov, Timofey Skatov, and Beibit Zhukayev. Additionally, the country’s
second-ranked player, Alexander Shevchenko, has announced his intention to
compete for the national team. Danish players are also ready for the upcoming
match with Kazakhstan’s team in Astana.
«I have very high
expectations, I have always wanted to play in the Davis Cup, and now I have this
opportunity. I had an incredible feeling when I first played for the national
team at the Olympics. And here the team spirit is also very strong, with a good
staff and a very friendly team. So, it will be an honor for me to participate.
I hope that we will show our best,» said Alexander Shevchenko, member of
Kazakhstan’s tennis team.
«We had a good preparation. Three of our guys, we were
in Eastern Bullet for the Challenger, and got a good week together. Another guy
played in Hungary, and we’ve had some good hours on court. I think the players
look good. Good conditions, good atmosphere, good spirits, like the Davis Cup
format,» shared Frederik Nielsen, captain of Denmark’s tennis team.
