Almaty’s economy sees growth in private investment worth 360 billion tenge

The key sectors of Almaty’s economy demonstrated high growth rates from January to April 2024. The volume of transport services increased by 17.5 percent, construction by nearly six percent, and communications by over four percent. A total of 360 billion tenge of private investment was attracted to the metropolis’s economy. Almaty mayor Yerbolat Dossayev reported the preliminary results of the city’s socio-economic development for the first four months to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

The Head of State was also informed about the slowdown in inflation, which stood at around nine percent in April, and the progress of projects within the city’s transport framework. President Tokayev instructed to continue work on attracting investment as part of Almaty’s economic diversification and further reduce inflation.
