Aktau plane crash: Black boxes to be sent to Brazil for decoding

The black boxes of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane will be decoded in Brazil with the participation of Azerbaijani experts. The Kazakh Ministry of Transport stated that the flight recorders will be sent to the Aviation Accident Investigation and Prevention Center. This decision was made in accordance with the Chicago Convention, which Kazakhstan ratified in 1992. Additionally, an accredited observer, who heads the aircraft accident investigation section, arrived in Aktau on behalf of the ICAO Secretary General. The International Civil Aviation Organization commended the actions of Kazakhstan’s aviation authorities for their transparent approach to conducting the investigation and involving the relevant states.
