Artificial intelligence will not replace judges, but it can become an important tool for the development of the justice system. This was stated in an interview with our TV channel by Natalia Pavlova, Judge of the Court of the Eurasian Economic Union from the Russian Federation. According to her, amid the rapid development of digital technologies, the judicial system must adapt to the new reality. The issue is not about delegating decisions to machines, but about simplifying routine work, including the analysis of large volumes of legal information, the systematization of judicial practice, and accelerating access to justice for citizens and businesses. This area is expected to develop further, given that the leaders of the EAEU countries signed a joint statement on the responsible development of artificial intelligence in Astana. In addition, Natalia Pavlova emphasized the importance of adapting judicial procedures to modern technologies. In particular, this includes the introduction of video conferencing, electronic enforcement of decisions, and the improvement of procedural norms. According to her, the topic of AI is now relevant for both national and international courts.
«Artificial intelligence today affects all spheres of
public relations. The key point to keep in mind is that the court is aimed at
protecting the rights of business entities, citizens, and individuals. People
themselves are becoming increasingly involved in the sphere of artificial
intelligence, and how effectively the justice system can protect their rights
in this new reality will ultimately determine the welfare and well-being of our
citizens, businesses, and economic union, which is primarily focused on the
economy,» noted Natalia Pavlova, Judge of the Court of the Eurasian Economic Union from the
Russian Federation.
