«Our
team has been ranked in the top four at the Asian Winter Games since 1996. At
the previous Asian Games in 2017 in Sapporo, Kazakhstan secured fourth place in
the overall team standings, winning 32 medals. More than half of our delegation
members come from Astana, Almaty, and the East Kazakhstan region. To ensure
high-quality preparation for these games, the national winter sports teams held
137 training camps. Our athletes also participated in 86 international
competitions, winning a total of 33 medals,» noted Kazakh Minister of Tourism and
Sports Yerbol Myrzabossynov.
