The works of Abai were performed on buses in Astana. An
unusual challenge, marking the 180th anniversary of the great Kazakh poet,
thinker, and philosopher, was organized by the ‘Azheler Shanyraq’ ensemble. Bus
route №10 became a concert stage for its soloists. Participants of the event
traveled along Republic Avenue toward the airport, delighting passengers along
the way with live performances of Abai’s poems and songs.
«Abai’s work and legacy hold great importance and value for
future generations. They should be passed down from generation to generation, starting
from kindergartens, schools, and universities to workplaces where young people
are employed, so that they know, see, listen to, write down, and learn Abai’s
songs by heart,» said Kulyash Kosparmakova, leader of the ‘Azheler Shanyraq’
ensemble.
Residents and visitors of Astana riding public transport
warmly welcomed the challenge.
«It was a pleasure that the participants lifted our spirits
by performing Abai’s songs. We enjoyed it all.»
«I am overwhelmed with pride for our country, our wonderful
people, and all Kazakh citizens who remember and honor the legacy.»
«Such events are a great way to remind people of traditions
and customs. Young people should listen to Abai’s songs.»
