In Astana, an exhibition was unveiled highlighting the centuries-old historical and cultural ties between Kazakhstan and Türkiye, as well as Turkic spiritual heritage. The exhibition, titled «From Yasawi to Yunus Emre», features more than 25 calligraphic works by young Kazakh artist Aldiyar Auyesbekov. Each piece conveys the philosophical ideas of two great thinkers—Khoja Ahmed Yasawi and Yunus Emre—rooted in humanist thought. Through visual expression, the artist seeks to illustrate the continuity of spiritual traditions and the shared values of peoples from the Great Steppe to Anatolia. The exhibition was organized by the Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center. The project also serves as a platform for dialogue between artists and cultural figures from both countries.
«I was inspired by the works of Yunus Emre and the writings of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi. While studying the materials, I realized that conveying unconditional love for humanity through poetic lines is truly a great art form. I tried to interpret and express their ideas on canvas in my own way. The use of colour in each painting is also important—black, red, and others,» Auyesbekov said.
«Such events are organized to help young people better
understand their history and culture. Today, it is no secret that young people
spend a significant amount of time on social media. That is why I believe it is
especially important to introduce the younger generation to key spiritual
values,» said Zülfü Toman,
Cultural Counsellor at the Embassy of Türkiye in Kazakhstan.
