Kazakhstan is creating a unified digital radio network for
rapid emergency response. For the first time, it will integrate the emergency
services’ communication channels, including rescuers, police, and the National
Guard. The scalable platform will ensure reliable interagency communication
across the country, improving the speed, quality, and coordination of
operations, as well as overall responsiveness. Importantly, the system operates
independently of the internet and mobile operators. To date, 13 regions of the
country have been connected to the network, with plans to install eight additional
base stations.
«There is currently no similar system in the CIS countries. Its
advantage is that, in the future, it will enhance the response to natural and
man-made emergencies while also conserving radio frequency resources. Previously,
each agency built its own separate radio system, whereas an integrated network
will eliminate duplication and thereby lead to financial savings. The system
will be used not only in the event or threat of an emergency but also by other
agencies in their day-to-day operations,» noted Ruslan Seitov, chief specialist
of the Department of Informatization, Digitalization and Communication at the
Kazakh Ministry for Emergency Situations.
