Kazakh moguls competed in the first qualification of the 24th Winter Olympic Games in Beijing. Ayaulym Amrenova, Olesya Graur and Anastasia Gorodok represented the women's team. Leading athlete Yulia Galysheva will demonstrate her skills already in the second qualification, which will take place on February 5th. According to the results of the competition, Olesya Graur finished 23rd, Ayaulym Amrenova - 16th. In the men’s qualification, Pavel Kolmakov and Dmitry Reicherd are below the top ten. The second qualification of the men's team will take place on February 6th.
“I liked everything. Even though the track was difficult for me, everything went well,” shared freestyle skier Ayaulym Amrenova.
“The track is very good, I mean not very difficult, smooth. It is difficult, of course, that it is longer than some of the tracks in the World Cup, but in general, not bad,” freestyle skier Olesya Graur added.
In total, 109 sets of medals will be awarded among nearly 4,000 athletes at the Olympics. The opening of the Winter Games will take place today. President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will take part in the official ceremony. Khabar and El Arna TV channels will broadcast live at 6.00 p.m.
