The Kazakh National Council of Public Trust will be transformed into the National Kuryltai. The dialogue between the authorities and the people is expected to move to a completely new level. This platform should form a single institutional model of discussion and become a link, the members of Parliament believe.
“The composition of the People’s Kuryltai will include MPs, experts and political scientists. A new deliberative body will function in all regions of Kazakhstan. This means that all public councils that previously existed at the regional and district levels, will enter the national kuryltai,” said Yerlan Sairov, Member of Mazhilis, Lower House of Kazakh Parliament.
The Kuryltai is essential for the expansion of the platform for a nationwide dialogue, as well as for an open discussion of economic, social, spiritual and moral issues with the public and making specific decisions. MP Sayasat Nurbek emphasized the importance of the role of the new association in the life of the country.
“Today we need to unite our nation. Now we seem to be divided into Kazakh-speaking - Russian-speaking people, or Kazakh - not Kazakh, urban - rural. Who has a car and who doesn’t. Who has an apartment and who doesn’t. There is a strong division of society,” noted Member of Mazhilis Sayasat Nurbek.
