From April 15 to 26, educational
achievement monitoring of students will be conducted in Kazakhstan’s schools.
150,000 students from the fourth and ninth grades from nearly 2,500 schools will
participate, as announced by the Ministry of Education. The monitoring will
assess three literacy areas, including reading, mathematics, and natural
sciences. Tests will be provided in electronic format. Kazakhstan’s national
assessment of students’ knowledge allows evaluating the effectiveness of
educational programs and identifying strengths and weaknesses in the learning
process. This year, tasks based on international assessment frameworks such as
PISA, PIRLS, and TIMSS have been added to the system. According to experts, a
comprehensive analysis will be conducted based on the monitoring results to
enhance the quality of education. Methodological recommendations tailored to
each region and even individual schools will be provided. Kazakhstan’s system
of educational achievement monitoring of students is currently undergoing
international accreditation.
