The second meeting of the Termez Dialogue took place in Uzbekistan, focusing on developing cooperation between Central and South Asia. The event brought together politicians, diplomats, experts, business representatives, as well as representatives of international and regional organizations. The main emphasis was on transport and logistics. Participants noted that Central Asian countries are landlocked, making the development of new routes, reduction of transport costs, and the expansion of the region’s export opportunities particularly important. They also exchanged views on political and economic cooperation, climate adaptation, and cultural and humanitarian interaction.
«The Second Termez Dialogue is a very important forum and venue. It is part of broader initiatives that Uzbekistan has come forth for the purpose of enhancing trust, which is the most important prerequisite for everything, for stability, for peace, for security, for development, bringing societies together, bringing cultures. Because after all, Central Asia and South Asia have common historical civilizational roots. And it is important in today’s world to have a place where countries and people come together,» said Kaha Imnadze, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Central Asia.
The concept of the Termez Dialogue is based on ensuring stability through joint development. This approach largely aligns with the mission of CICA.
«The
Termez Dialogue has brought CICA to this remarkable city today, as our goals
are aligned with the objectives of the Termez Dialogue. The peoples of Asia are
eager to engage in dialogue; through dialogue, we identify the areas where
cooperation is possible. Any cooperation creates opportunities to increase
economic output, enhance cultural exchange, and promote development,» said CICA
Secretary General Kairat Sarybay.
