Turkistan has once again become a center of attraction for
researchers from around the world. The city is hosting an international symposium dedicated to the legacy of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi.
In addition to local scholars, the event has brought together experts from
Azerbaijan, Germany, Italy, the Kyrgyz Republic, Russia, the U.S., Tajikistan, Türkiye,
Japan, and other countries. Participants are discussing the influence of the
great thinker’s teachings on modern society, as well as his humanistic
principles and their role in addressing global challenges. The initiative to
hold the forum was proposed by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the third
session of the National Kurultai, where he emphasized the importance of
thoroughly studying and promoting Khoja Ahmed Yasawi’s legacy. The opening
ceremony of the symposium was attended by State Counsellor Erlan Karin.
«We must focus on Yasawi’s humanistic ideas. His philosophy
is not limited to religion or region, it is universal and relevant to all of
humanity,» Karin noted.
