The Senate, Upper House of the Kazakh Parliament, has
approved a law aimed at developing the Astana Hub international technology
park. The cluster will be merged with the Park of Innovative Technologies to
consolidate innovation support in one location and build on successful
practices. The amendments introduce measures to streamline the operations of
the unified fund, adopt new approaches to financing and venture market
development, and strengthen data protection. Lawmakers note that the initiative
is expected to create more favorable conditions for digital solutions and
startup growth. The legislative changes also call for further development of
the Single Window digital platform.
«The key provision of the law focuses on strengthening
the activities of the Astana Hub cluster, a central instrument for implementing
the country’s digital development strategy. Overall, the legislation seeks to
improve the system of state support for innovation and to create favorable
conditions for the adoption of new technologies. It also introduces amendments
to the Civil and Entrepreneurial Codes, as well as to ten other laws,» said Senate member Shakarym Buktugutov.
Parliamentary reform - continuing the course toward a
just Kazakhstan
During the meeting, Senate Speaker Maulen Ashimbayev
also commented on the President’s proposal for parliamentary reform and the
transition to a unicameral parliament. He emphasized that the reform would be a
logical continuation of efforts to build a Just and Strong Kazakhstan, while
the final decision will be made taking into account the will of the people -
through a referendum.
