CSTO discusses military-economic cooperation in Astana

Military-economic cooperation between the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states was discussed at the 23rd meeting of the Interstate Commission in Astana. As the delegations noted, cooperation in this area remains a key element of collective security and enhancing the defense potential of CSTO members. During the meeting, the initiative to hold a second CSTO military-economic conference in Minsk next June was supported. Also, in honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory Day, the heads of delegations laid flowers at the Otan Korgaushylar (Motherland Defenders) monument in memory of the fallen heroes.

«During the meeting, the implementation of decisions adopted at the previous session in Bishkek was discussed and the commission’s plan for 2026 was approved. Particular attention was paid to improving the mechanism for interaction between CSTO member states. The meeting was held in an atmosphere of high trust, reaffirming the willingness of all participants to engage in practical cooperation,» said Ayan Islyamov, head of the Military-Technical Policy Department at the Kazakh Defense Ministry.
