Training sessions and workshops by leading specialists from the Chinese TV channel CGTN have been launched in the Kazakh capital. «CMG Media Week 2026» is underway at the MNU International School of Journalism. Kazakh and Chinese media experts have come together on a single educational platform. Students have the opportunity to explore multimedia content aimed, among other things, at developing reporting skills in an international environment. In addition, they can work on real-life cases, ask questions, and develop their own projects. The event is organized by Kazakh President’s TV and Radio Complex in cooperation with China Media Group as part of a memorandum. The document was signed in June last year during the visit of the President of China to Kazakhstan.
«CGTN has really strong professionalism when it comes
to journalism and reporting, you know, filming, reporting, writing. And we
would like to apply these skills to students in Kazakhstan, especially as we
are close partners. And that’s one of the very important cooperation,» noted Yunfei Zhao, reporter, CGTN.
Chinese experts noted the high level of AI integration in Kazakhstan, including in the television industry. According to reporter Yunfei Zhao, AI in China’s media industry is widely used in news journalism and program production. This opens up new opportunities thanks to the high efficiency and accuracy of the technology. However, he emphasized the importance of maintaining a balance in the use of artificial intelligence.
«We wouldn’t say that artificial intelligence is a
contradictory, but we would say that it would bring some certain degree of
challenges, but at the same time, new opportunities. So, before AI, think about
how much time we would need to do research. But artificial intelligence can
certainly shorten that time when people do research. You can look for the
content that you need quickly with AI. So, it helps people to learn in a
quickly manner,» Yunfei Zhao added.
