The second Kazakh-Russian Media Forum took place in Almaty with the participation of heads of government agencies and leading media representatives from both countries. The Kazakh delegation was headed by State Counselor Erlan Karin, while Russia was represented by Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office and Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov. In his remarks, Karin highlighted that Presidents Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Vladimir Putin consistently describe bilateral cooperation as exemplary – a high standard that requires daily effort in all areas of partnership. Forum participants discussed the application of artificial intelligence in journalism, mechanisms for information partnerships, and joint efforts to counter disinformation. Peskov announced that preparations are underway for President Tokayev’s state visit to Russia, scheduled for November, underscoring its significance and scale.
